The company robbe, Robert Becker GmbH, 6421 Metzlos-Gehaag, already sold a single-channel system under the designation KA-FU 59/II radio remote control system (order no. 4702) at the end of the 1950’s. A transmitter KA-FU 2 (individual order no. 4704), a receiver KA-FU 5 (individual order no. 4706), a battery board (individual order no. 4707) and a steering gear with the designation Superpilot were supplied. The transmitter, receiver and battery board are parts made by Klemm, Munich. The transmitter is identical to the Standard 20 transmitter from Klemm or Graupner.
Later, robbe developed the “telecont” series together with Reichert Elektronik.
The series comprised 3-, 5- and 9-channel transmitters and matching receivers. Like cameras, the transmitters came with a leather case. The receivers were cube-shaped and could be extended from e.g. 3-channel to 5- or even 9-channel with an add-on.
In 1967, robbe introduced its own proportional system, the telecont full digital system. Like all other robbe telecont systems, the system was built by Reichert-Elektronik. The servos used were mechanics from Bonner. The system was not a great sales success and the following year robbe switched to the then unknown Japanese remote control manufacturer Futaba.
