Tobias Schulz developed his new F3A biplane Shamrock with his father Dr Eckhard Schulz for the 1989 F3A World Championship in Chesapeak, USA. He hoped that using a biplane at the world championship would give him certain flying advantages, but this was not the case. Unlike the T.O.C. competition in Las Vegas, there was no biplane bonus at this world championship.
