The company Metz, Fernsehen, Radio, Elektronik, Fürth/Bavaria, was and is actually a company for consumer electronics. However, Metz Mecatron radio control systems were built exclusively for Schuco-Hegi Modellbau.
The product range consisted of the 1-channel Metz Mecatron “Baby” system, a 3-channel system and a 10-channel system. The Metz “Baby” was later built as a 2-channel system with a joystick.
In 1968, Metz launched a proportional system, the Metz mecatron Digiprop. This had a similar modular design to the Graupner Varioprop, which also appeared in 1968, i.e. both the transmitter and the receiver system could be upgraded by the operator according to his requirements.
