May 1st, 2025, yesterday we received photos of his latest aviation creation from our Austrian comrade Alfred Trettenbein. A Zlin Z-526 has done it to him, there are beautiful photos of this extraordinary replica of a Zlin, see for yourself:
The original: The Zlin Z-526 is a Czechoslovakian sports and aerobatic airplane of the Trenér series. The two-seater versions bear the nickname Trenér Master, the single-seater versions are known as Akrobat and Akrobat Spezial.
The model: This model of the Zlin 526 AFS was developed by Thomas Schmidt (www.Aeroflug.de), who has since specialized in the manufacture of high-quality electronic products for model making. He parted with the molds and drawings of his Zlin with a heavy heart.
The model is built in modern full GRP construction. All essential wooden parts including the undercarriage mount are already glued in. The model is absolutely scale and can be built into a scale competition model.
The flight characteristics are excellent and with the appropriate motorization everything is possible that the original can do.
A corresponding pneumatic retractable undercarriage is available as an option. The engine options range from a single-cylinder engine with 75 – 85 cc (scale aerobatics) to a 110 cc in-line engine for powerful dynamic aerobatics.
All in all, the Zlin is a rare and therefore exceptional model aircraft “Made in Germany” on model airfields.
