The World Aerobatic Championships have been held since 1960, organized by the FAI, Model Flying Section. Thanks to our consistent, year-long search for contemporary witnesses, we now report continuously on Classicpatterns from 1960, the World Championships in Dübersdorf, to 1985, the World Championships in Flevohof.
The very first World Aerobatic Championship took place in Dübersdorf, Switzerland. Since then, and usually at two-year intervals, these world championships have been held in FAI member countries.
We have set ourselves the task of documenting every single world championship through reports and photos from contemporary witnesses.
Each individual world championship report consists of a report, up to 120 photos and a detailed overview of the participants, listing the participants, the aircraft used, the engines and the remote controls.
To date, the years 1960-1985 have been documented, and the series is constantly being expanded.
To all readers: If you are in possession of photos or film material of such past world championships, European championships, T.O.C.`s or other photos of old aerobatic aircraft, we would be very pleased to receive your cooperation.
We are especially looking for material from 1987 onwards.
Our goal is to document all the world championships that have ever taken place. Please get in touch with our editorial team
