We received the following message from Gerhard Schmidt: After 34 years, I finally unpacked my two treasures yesterday. The quality of Nishioka’s work is simply first-class and elegant.
When I look at the aircraft flown in F3A today, I can only conclude that they are an aesthetic disaster.
“Generous” and the little Silver Arrow by Japanese model aircraft artist Hajime Nishioka. Among other things, he built several model aircraft for Wolfgang Matt.
Who would like to own one of his original aircraft? Here’s your chance:
The larger ‘Generous’ is still in its original packaging and comes with a new YS-.60FR FS motor. Wingspan: 1.8 metres.
Both aircraft were built by Hajime Nishioka himself!
Gerhard Schmidt lived in Japan in the 1980s. He is an enthusiastic RC pilot and used to take part in F3A competitions in Japan. He also flew his little ‘Silberpfeil’.
He is now back in Germany and would like to pass on his two aircraft to a loving owner, preferably a collector. The aircraft are almost too good to fly.
As mentioned above, both aircraft are equipped with Yamada engines. The special feature of the YS engines was the chrome-plated aluminium liner and the very well-functioning pump, which allowed for a large carburettor bore and thus good filling – but also quite high fuel consumption.
Enclosed are some photos from my time in Japan.
