Here I introduce you to one of the most successful German model aircraft pilots in the history of German aeromodelling: Max Merckenschlager, – 3 times FAI F4C World Champion. I can still remember very well that he was also very good in the F3AX class at the beginning of the eighties. I judged him at various competitions.
His son, Konrad Merckenschlager, provided me with some great photos of his father. Max travelled in various competition classes: F3A, F3A Hydro, F3AX and F4C. In the scale class, he took 1st place in 3 world championships!
In between, several other scale aircraft were built.
And a lot was dismantled too
