Orbit Electronics, Inc, 11601 Anabel Ave, Garden Grove, California, was founded by Bob Dunham and was the market leader in the U.S. for reed systems in the 1960s.
These were first offered in tube technology, later with transistor technology.
When switching to proportional systems, Orbit initially relied on the analogue principle with the Orbit 3+1 and Orbit 5+1 systems, but these systems were not able to assert themselves against the proportional systems based on the digital principle and were later replaced by the Orbit 4 – 8D and Orbit 7 – 14D.
