Today we received photos from our Austrian driving instructor of his latest acquisition: a beautiful ‘Leopard’, built from a Bauer-Chocal kit with prefabricated fuselage.
The “Leopard” was developed by Rolf Schuler in the 1970s. With this design, he took part in many national and international aerobatic competitions with the “Leopard”.
Wingspan 1.60 metres. Designed for a 10 cc nitro engine.
He worked closely with the Schwäbisch Gmünd-based manufacturer “Bauer-Chocal”.
Bauer Modellbau offered this aerobatic aeroplane as a kit. Rolf later became very active in the F3AX scene and flew at the top for many years.
A few more data: The engine is an Aircom ACM 61 RC, which was manufactured by Hirtenberger and is actually a Silverstar.
The weight is approx. 3500g. Michael is the second owner.
