The Graupner company was founded in 1930. The entry in the Stuttgart address book reads: GRAUPNER, Johannes, Laubsägeartikelfabrikation und -Handel, Untertürkheimer Straße 23, Wangen.
After 2 years, the company moves to Kirchheim unter Teck.
In 1954, the “Standard 10” and “Standard 20” remote control systems are presented at the toy fair in Nuremberg.
In 1956, the “Tippy” self-build system is added, followed in 1957 by the “Standard 30” in a plastic housing.
In 1958 Graupner launched the “Bellaphon A” and “Bellaphon B”, which were built by Schuhmacher in Munich.
1960 The Bellaphon series was extended by the Bellaphon 3-channel and Bellaphon 10-channel.
1962 Graupner changes the manufacturer for its R/C equipment and wins the well-known radio and television manufacturer “Grundig” for the production of its new “Variophon/Varioton” remote controls, which are offered in 4 and 8-channel versions.
In 1963 the small 2-channel Variophon pocket transmitter is added and in 1964 the Variophon/Varioton is offered as “S” with crystal control
1966 Graupner, again in co-operation with Grundig, introduces the first Graupner proportional system, the Graupner/Grundig TX/RX-14.
1968 The TX/RX-14 is replaced by the much cheaper Varioprop 10. The Varioprop series is continuously expanded by Graupner and reaches its peak with the Varioprop Pro-Mix Expert.
As the production of remote control systems at Grundig becomes too expensive, Graupner joins forces with Grundig in 1983.
