Here is the latest achievement from our Austrian friend Michael Gebauer. Piranha’. Created in the mid-seventies from a kit from the Italian company ‘MB Modelli Bettini’. Constructed by Mr Masi and Mr Bettini.
Our example was built in 1976. The aeroplane was purchased by Michael from 4th hand. It is fitted with a Hirtenberger 61 Gold Cup with Graupner resonance tube. The original Italian resonance tube was replaced for noise protection reasons. Take-off weight approx. 3.8 kg. The Piranha was decommissioned from 1985 to 2024. The model has an estimated 200 flights according to the previous owner. Michael has brought the installations (RC, retractable undercarriage) up to date. Only the engine remained.
There were two versions of the Piranha. One with a straight tail unit and one with a negative V-shape. O degree angle of attack and = degree engine camber. Wingspan 1,56 Meter. The ‘Piranha’ flies excellently. Thanks to Michael Gebauer for the great photos.
